Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland Project Update
To our valued passholders,
We know you are as excited as we are for the $55million worth of investment we announced late last year, and it’s time for us to prepare these fantastic park updates for you!
As a passholder and a member of the Dreamworld family, you are incredibly important to us, and we want to keep you informed of the phased construction we have planned to ensure you can continue to have great experiences at the park while we work on it.
It is our goal to give you the inside look into how we are progressing this exciting change. Obviously weather and other factors can throw a spanner in the works so we recommend keeping an eye on our Ride Status and Information page ahead of your visit to plan your day! With over 30 attractions, we can guarantee that your day will still be jam packed with Dreamworld fun. Our brand-new Parents Centre will remain fully available throughout this time.
Our fantastic new kids area, Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland, is planned to open in late 2023, which means that some rides will be temporarily unavailable as they are updated or changed. What does this look like?
We’re going to be ripping in first with the area between the entry bridge into Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland and Mad Jungle Jam. This will mean tearing up all of the old pavement, heaps of garden works, painting, theming and so much more.
This means that:
- King Julien’s Theatre is now closed and will be out of action for a while as it is transformed into The Dreamworld Theatre.
- Mad Jungle Jam is currently closed to accommodate its conversion to Belinda’s Tree House.
We can’t promise it (in case of bad weather) but we’re aiming to have this part of our renovations all finished with new shows in The Dreamworld Theatre and the kiddos playing in Belinda’s Tree House by the Easter school holidays.
The other big changes you’ll see this week:
- Shrek’s Ogre-Go-Round is closed for a short period whilst it is transformed into the Bananas in Pyjamas Carousel. We’ve done a lot of preparatory work for this one, and as such we are aiming to have the new carousel back in action in around two weeks.
- Dronkey’s Flyers will be removed to make way for our brand new Big Red Plane attraction. The ride is looking great and will be on the way to Australia very soon! We’ll prepare the area with new flooring, fencing, gardens and theming so as soon as the ride arrives, we can get stuck into installation.
- Pandamonium will start its major refurbishment as part of our new Ocean Parade extension. We look forward to showing you the progress as we get this one off and running.
Escape from Madagascar, Gingy’s Gliders, Puss in Boots Sword Swing and Skadoosh Bumper Cars will all remain operating as Escape Coaster, Candy Flyers, Soaring Swing and Dreamworld Dodgems for this first phase of works and we’ll update you as we commence changes to these attractions.
We’re committed to ensuring we add value to every visit during this period, so we’ve got some exciting additions when you visit the kids area…
- Extra Entertainment! With extra characters in the street, be met by our fantastic entertainment team and join in the fun.
- Wildlife Visits! See, interact with and learn about some of your favourite native wildlife as our Wildlife Keepers visit throughout the day.
- Daily Foam Parties! Yep, it’s just as fun as it sounds! Kids can join in the fun near The Gold Coaster entry… beware, they will get wet.
- PLUS MORE! Keep an eye on our socials for more added excitement.
We can’t wait for you to see Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland come to life, and we appreciate your patience as we carry out these important works!
We look forward to welcoming you for your next visit to Dreamworld.
